What we do, how we do it, and why.

Redbrick is a brand and graphic design service aimed at small businesses, sole practitioners, and anyone who needs to make a lot out of a little.

As a result, we might approach your needs a little differently than you’d expect.

Brand-building takes time, and small businesses can’t always afford to hire us whenever they need something new designed. By considering your needs upfront and leveraging my expertise and experience, Redbrick can help your business be ready for growth, development, and change. It’s nothing complicated or expensive: we just believe that working carefully and thoughtfully can save you stress, effort, and money in the long run.

Redbrick has three basic principles that define our approach:

  1. Design should solve problems.

  2. To do it yourself, get the right tools.

  3. Our expertise is our product.

Let’s break them down.

Design should solve problems.

Lots of designers out there can get you a cool logo that represents your identity and looks great on your screen. We know we’re not the only game in town!

We have some questions, though. Can you print it black-and-white? If it’s got a gradient or an ombré, can it be silkscreened on a t-shirt, or stenciled on a window? If it’s very fine and elegant, how does it read when it’s small or far away? If it’s a circular icon, will it look good on a letterhead? Is it possible to get embroidered?

Design should solve problems, not create more. That’s why Redbrick believes in identifying and understanding your needs.

To do it yourself, get the right tools.

We have nothing against cool logos. (Email us if you need a cool logo.) But when we design a cool logo, we want it to be more than a logo: it has to be the right tool for the job.

Tools are important, even if you’re building something easy. When you’re assembling a flat-pack table, you don’t have to be a master carpenter - but you do need the right screwdriver, or you’re in a lot of trouble.

Lots of small businesses DIY their brands out of necessity, and that’s great - as long as you’ve got the right tools for the job.

Running your business at home? Your visual identity can suit desktop printing. Want to manage your newly designed website? Redbrick can be your guide. Inexperienced with design software? We can optimize your social media strategy for Canva or Powerpoint.

With right tools, there’s so much you can build.
Redbrick can help you fill your toolbox.

Our expertise is our product.

What does Redbrick bring to the table?

Experience, knowledge, and a thoughtful approach. We’re here to provide solutions you might not have expected for problems you didn’t anticipate.

Sometimes you don’t need all that - you just need someone to redraw the cool logo you sketched on a napkin. That’s fine! Drop us a line, and we can get you a quote.

Our expertise isn’t an unnecessary extra, though. That work is how we set you up for success after our work is done. We think it’s worth it, and hope you will too.
