Several examples of designs for print.

First, branding and print design for an exhibition and reception around the receipt of a large donation of Azorean architecture, landscape, and culture books to the University of Waterloo School of Architecture.

Second, design and layout of a CV and portfolio for a worker in the AEC industry.

Finally, layouts for my own thesis.

  • The CV and portfolio design largely involved the selection of typefaces, colours, and aesthetic. Execution is left to the client.

  • A set of page templates based on a 50/50 split leaves enough space for highlighting the big picture without sacrificing flexibility.

  • The typefaces, colours, and formatting make the creation of a bilingual portfolio as painless as possible.

  • My thesis included a photo essay, maps, large scale drawings, and 14,000 words. That’s why the formatting is straightforward.

  • Simple, extremely rigid formatting with different widths for different content helps the book feel consistent, even when it isn’t.
